New students enrolled in the Center for Online Learning qualify for Saint Leo University’s COL Values Grant Program provided they have a minimum of one class for six consecutive eight-week terms. This grant removes $132 per class, totally almost $800 in benefits over one academic year. So long as a student continues enrollment in the Center for Online Learning, this grant may be renewed up until the point of obtaining an Associate’s Degree or Bachelor’s Degree.
President Barack Obama
PRESIDENT BARACK OBAMA: You know, there are few things as fundamental to the American dream or as essential for America’s success as a good education. This has never been more true than it is today. At a time when our children are competing with kids in China and India, the best job qualification you can have is a college degree or advanced training. If you do have that kind of education, then you’re well prepared for the future because half of the fastest-growing jobs in America require a bachelor’s degree or more. And if you don’t have a college degree, you’re more than twice as likely to be unemployed as somebody who does. So the stakes could not be higher for young people.
The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) and 32 partner institutions today launched the World Digital Library, a website that features unique cultural materials from libraries and archives from around the world. The site―located at www.wdl.org―includes manuscripts, maps, rare books, films, sound recordings, prints and photographs. It provides unrestricted public access, free of charge, to this material.
The launch took place at UNESCO Headquarters at an event co-hosted by UNESCO Director-General Koïchiro Matsuura and Librarian of Congress James H. Billington. Directors of the partner institutions were on hand to present the project to ambassadors, ministers, delegates and special guests attending the semi-annual meeting of UNESCO’s Executive Board.

Alumni came from across the country to socialize, network, and show their support for the Alumni Association Award recipients. A record number of alumni were nominated and selected to receive these awards.
