Run Walk Win

Run Walk Bike Win

Need some excitement this weekend? Family Fitness Weekend presents a physical fitness race that is hosted by Saint Leo University on June 19-20.

The race is across the beautiful landscape of Pasco in Florida and consists of a swim, bike ride, and run, circulating around Saint Leo University’s main campus.

Anyone coming for a weekend of fitness from a flatter landscape will find Saint Leo University’s event truly challenging. First, the swim takes you 600 meters across Lake Jovita. Forecasts predict no currents or waves during the event, making it one of the smoothest swims Saint Leo University has ever hosted.

Your bike ride then follows, taking you across what Family Fitness Weekend describes as, “Hills, hills, and even more hills!” Experience breath-taking scenery as you participate in a 10 mile trail that challenges amateurs and professionals alike.

Next is the run, which is 3.1 miles long. This run will take you throughout all of Saint Leo University’s main campus. The course is three-quarters grass, so it is mostly cross country.

Of course, you don’t have the take part in the entire event. Saint Leo University is offering four different choices to make this workout fun for everyone:
•    The Triathlon, which consists of the entirety of all three parts of the race.
•    The Duathlon, which involves a 2 mile run, the 10 mile bike ride, and the 3.1 mile run.
•    Sprint Kids Tri, which is a 25 yard swim, half mile bike ride, and 100 yard sprint.
•    5K Run/Walk, which is only the 3.1 mile course.
